This was my first visit to this restaurant, and I was truly impressed! The food was delicious, with plenty of seafood and rice served in a generous portion—one order is easily enough for one or two adults, or even a small family. The service was friendly, and the prices were very reasonable. It’s definitely worth bringing friends along to enjoy this classic Thai cuisine. I’ll be back for sure!

We had a fantastic dining experience at Syphay! We started with the Garlic Shrimp Rolls, which were crispy, flavorful, and a perfect way to begin our meal. My husband had the Shu-Shee, and we also ordered the Black Bean Stir-fry with beef—both dishes were absolutely delicious, with rich, well-balanced flavors. The service was quick, and the staff was incredibly kind and attentive. I have a nut and coconut allergy, and they were very accommodating, ensuring I had a safe and enjoyable meal. It’s not always easy to find places that are both mindful of allergies and serve incredible food, but Syphay exceeded our expectations. We’ll definitely be back!

Sooo good! Skip the pad Thai and get some curry with coconut rice. You won’t regret it. I was always a pad Thai girly but syphay makes incredible curries. Melt in your mouth flavourful. I’ve tried the green, yellow, red, and pineapple curry and all are equally as delicious. It’s my go-to restaurant for incredibly tasty food downtown. It’s not the most luxurious place by any means but it’s some good home cooking.

A friend and I recently went for dinner to the downtown location. I hadn’t been to Syphay since they were on gateway blvd in the old house. I will definitely be returning very soon. The food is fresh and delicious! Portions are very generous - we each took a takeout container home. We ordered a soup to start and 2 main courses and coconut rice.

LOVE this spot! One of the best restaurants in the city! Order the Basa Fish, it's amazing!! The mango sticky rice was so nice, too! And pad Thai is a classic we order every time. Thank you for the amazing food and warm service!

After having been to three Thai restaurants in Edmonton, I must say this one’s the best! We ordered Tom Yum, Pad Thai, Seafood Phuket, and Gang-Keauy and it’s perfect for three people. I couldn’t stop saying yum after every mouthful It’s that good. I like how the dishes came with just enough meat in them. It was such a satisfying meal, and the service is great. We’ll definitely come back another time with our other expired groupon. We asked and they said they’ll accept the expired ones. Aren’t they so kind???

My first time, it was quite busy food feels good that match my taste, good quantity and lot of tofu and coconut rice taste so good

Syphay is noted as a Thai/Laosian restaurant on Jasper Avenue in Edmonton just outside of the inner city. When I first tried Syphay, I was actually not impressed. What I realized later was that I was mostly because I was expecting more of the traditional Thai flavors that I had experienced at other Thai restaurants. Rather, when I came back and was more open to seeing it from a different Laosian lens, I found the food to be exquisite. The space is old. It's in an old space on 95 street but it does have a vintage charm to it in the dark space. They have a parking lot but it is tight and a bit run down. You can park on the street just around the corner. The service is wonderful. The family that runs this establishment are extremely friendly and helpful. They sometimes see very busy if you are trying to call though. 5 x
